Kickboxing @ Martial Arts USA

I recently started kickboxing after buying a Groupon. A groupon is a website that offers daily deals at a great price for a variety of services. This groupon was for 4 kickboxing classes for the price of $30. This was a good opportunity for me to exercise more. I was hoping this will help me lose some weight. (It did help!)

It was located on the other side of Brooklyn by the 2 and 3 train. It was near the Brooklyn Museum. (The architecture of the museum looks very refine and clean. I definitely will check it out to see if the exhibits inside are just as refine.) Martial Arts USA also offers classes for Urban Contemporary Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Aikido and Yoga.

The workout gym is located on the 2nd floor. It’s bond to be a good workout session because you’re already started by walking up the stairs.

Carol “Kick Fever” Glasgow is the trainer. The kickboxing class is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm. Saturday and Sundays at 11am.

Dummies to practice punching on. I practice on these in my first class. My hands were getting tired from punching them.

Workout area. We always start off with some warm up exercises such as 100 sets of jumping jacks, stretching and 2 people sit ups. It’s very tiresome. Afterward, we would learn a new set of kickboxing routine base on jab and cross punches, front kicks, side kicks, and etc. Right now, I am learning the roundhouse kicks. It’s a fun class and each class’s routines are different which makes it a more interesting class to take. Can’t wait for my class today!
