Yummy Lunch – Homemade Japanese Food

Thanks to a very nice friend, I got homemade japanese food for lunch!

Rice, tamagoyaki and takoyaki without octopus.

I don’t like eating a lot of rice so this amount was just perfect. Tamagoyaki (also known as tamago) as you can see is a japanese style omelette. It is made by rolling several thin layers of cooked egg. They were perfect. Not to sweet at all. Takoyaki is really “suppose” to be grilled octopus. This is a improvised version of it made without the takoyaki pan and octopus. My friend used all the same ingredients (tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, ponzu, mayonnaise) and made it into a square shaped takoyaki. It tasted exactly like the ones made in restaurants. The okonomiyaki sauce was slightly too salty for me but none-the-less very tasty.

Thanks for the great lunch! You know who you are.
